Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Society has been serving the Surrey-Delta Sangat since year 1973, primarily as a Gurdwara Sahib. Limited initiatives in the fields of Kirtan-Teaching, Gurmat-Camps, and Punjabi Language Classes have been a part of the activities for our next generations from day one.
A much more organized and scaled approach was taken from the mid 1980s until 2010s. Building on the initiatives of our founding generations, the advanced level professional integration prevailed over last decade or so, and now consolidating all aspects of Sikh Studies with Academics, the accredited school is a realty that we look forward to elaborate on.
The purpose of forming G.N. Sikh School Association by the parent Society GNSGS is to fulfill one of its purposes stated in the bylaws. The following purpose is relevant to the opening of a new independent faith-based school (the “G.N. Sikh Pre and Elementary School"): “to advance religion and education by establishing and maintaining a school of instruction on the subject of the history, philosophy, religious observances, and language of the Sikhs.”
